As a former two-sport college athlete, I graduated college but still ate like I was competing. It wasn't long before I was severely overweight. I found CrossFit through a friend of mine and immediately I loved it; almost.
My first day was one of the hardest workouts, "Filthy Fifty," and took nearly 90 minutes for me to complete and it hurt to breathe. However, I knew feeling the way I was, was worse. I had back pain all the time, I didn't like the way I looked in pictures and had to take antacids daily.
Thanks to the excellent support I received from the staff and my new friends at the gym, I stuck to CrossFitting at Real Fitness. Within two months I had lost nearly 20lbs (even over the holidays) and began the Paleo Challenge (healthy eating challenge) the first week of January.
During the next 90 days I lost over 40lbs and nearly seven inches in my waist and became the Paleo Challenge Champion. I was now near my college playing weight and felt amazing. My "Filthy Fifty" time was now 33 minutes! I love the way I look, I don't have the same back pain, and I no longer need antacids to eat. Best of all nothing tastes as good as I feel.
